Professor Alan Salama
Medical interests: Nephrology, dialysis, kidney transplantation, polycystic kidney disease, general medicine. Particular interest in autoimmune conditions that affect the kidney; glomerulonephritis and systemic vasculitis.
I am a general nephrologist with an interest in immune mediated diseases and transplantation. My practice covers all aspects of nephrology and hypertension, including acute and chronic kidney failure, genetic diseases such as polycystic kidney disease and rarer inflammatory or autoimmune conditions that commonly affect the kidneys such as Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic vasculitis. I manage complex transplant patients pre-and post operatively and advise many other specialists about immunosuppression protocols to use post-transplant.
