Medical interests: Inflammatory arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout. Connective tissue disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, sarcoidosis and vasculitis. Joint and soft tissue injections.
I treat patients with diseases that affect their joints and soft tissues; my clinical experience ranges from osteoarthritis, through the inflammatory conditions of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, to conditions that can also impact on other body systems and tissues, such as lupus and fibromyalgia. As Lead for the Early Inflammatory Arthritis Service at the Royal Free Hospital, I recognise the importance of an early and accurate diagnosis; we now have therapies that can change the course of inflammatory arthritic disease and careful management of patients can prevent disability and can help them sustain a good quality of life.
