I am a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Internal Medicine Physician working at the Royal Free Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital and at The Physicians’ Clinic. I am interested in all aspects of Rheumatology and General Medicine and aim to offer holistic, evidence-based care to all my patients. I take pride in treating individuals and not just diseases. My medical practice is run in a collaborative fashion with my patients, maintaining great respect for their beliefs and background. Dr Animesh Singh undertook his undergraduate training medical training at University College London, qualifying in 2005. During this period, he undertook an additional BSc in Immunology where he was awarded first-class honours. He researched the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and its modulation by anti-TNF therapy at the prestigious Windeyer Institute under Prof. Isenberg and Prof. Ehrenstein resulting in a number of awards including from Arthritis Research UK. Dr Singh’s postgraduate general medical and rheumatology training was across north and west London at a mixture of extremely busy district-general and world-renowned teaching hospitals. He undertook a further period of research working for a multinational pharmaceutical company setting up and running pivotal clinical trials in scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) and cytokine-release syndrome in leukaemia patients. Since 2016, Dr Singh has been a substantive consultant in Rheumatology and Acute & General Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital. He is the Clinical Lead for psoriatic arthritis and runs a unique joint clinic with his dermatology colleagues. In addition, he is Governance Lead in acute medicine playing a crucial role in maintaining clinical standards and learning from system and individual errors.
