Dr Alexander Lyon presented the first guideline from the European Society of Cardiology on the topic of cardiovascular diseases in cancer patients, called the ESC guideline on Cardio-Oncology, at the ESC Congress. Dr Lyon was a co-chair of this first guideline which brought together 30 experts from around the world, including cardiologists, oncologists and haematologists, to provide guidance to optimise cardiac health and minimise cardiovascular problems in cancer patients before, during and after cancer therapies which are recognised to cause cancer therapies. The guideline has been published in the European Heart Journal and in the first 8 weeks it has over 115000 views.
