I am a consultant in Infectious Diseases and General medicine at the Hospital for Tropical diseases at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
In my NHS role I look after patients on the wards and in outpatients with infections. I am the lead for the OPAT service in the trust which means I have expertise in looking after patients whose conditions require them to have longer courses of intravenous therapy such as bone and joint infection and infections in the brain or heart valves. I also see many patients with complex urological infections. I have a broad experience in caring for patients with community and hospital acquired infections as well as extensive experience diagnosing and treating patients who may have a fever of uncertain origin and those that have travelled and return unwell.
I undertook my undergraduate training at Cambridge University and gained my medical degree from Imperial College, London in 2001. My clinical training in infectious diseases was in several large NHS trusts around London, including Royal Free, Northwick Park and Guy's and St Thomas'. I have been working as a consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases part of University College London Hospital for the last 5 years.
I regularly request feedback for patients under my care in the OPAT service which has been universally excellent. My most recent patient feedback has commented that I am a good listener who goes the extra mile to put patients first.
