About

As a haematologist with specialist interest in disorders of blood clotting, I can offer expertise to those who have had thrombosis (abnormal blood clots) or abnormal bleeding. I have expertise in the laboratory investigation of these conditions as well as their treatment options. I have developed a particular interest in how disorders of blood clotting can affect women's health, for example causing heavy menstrual bleeding.

Expertise

I have expertise in the investigation and management of disorders of blood clotting, both thrombosis and bleeding.

Disorders of thrombosis include deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. I am able to arrange investigations to consider the cause of the thrombosis and provide advice and guidance on different options for anticoagulation (blood thinning).

For those who have symptoms of excessive bleeding, for example easy bruising or bleeding after surgery, I will arrange a comprehensive set of investigations and provide expert interpretation of specialist tests.

I have developed a particular interest in how disorders of blood clotting can affect women's health, for example causing heavy menstrual bleeding.
