I am a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI), Imperial College London.


Dr Price is an integral member of the National Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Royal Brompton Hospital. In this role, she consults with patients who have pulmonary hypertension and other pulmonary vascular diseases. She runs outpatient pulmonary hypertension clinics, pulmonary embolus follow-up clinics, and supervises care of inpatients with the condition with emergencies relating to pulmonary hypertension or co-existing medical conditions, including respiratory conditions. She has broad experience in general and respiratory medicine, and works at the Physicians Clinic as part of the acute medical inpatient team.


Dr Price completed her preclinical and clinical medical training at the University of Bristol in 1998, obtaining a BSc in cellular and molecular pathology in 1995. She acquired broad general medical training as well as training in intensive care medicine in London, to HDU level. She completed registrar training in respiratory and general medicine on the NW Thames rotation, with posts at The Royal Brompton, Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospitals. Further to her general training, her specialist interest is caring for patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). She spent a year in the largest PH Centre in Europe (Antoine Beclere, now Bicetre Hospital, South Paris University) and a period of PH research examining the role of inflammation in PH, leading to a PhD thesis at Imperial College London. Current NHS appointment: Since 2014, she has been a consultant Respiratory Physician at the Royal Brompton Hospital NHS Trust.

Research Interests: Dr Price is an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College London. She has several on-going active research projects, over 35 peer reviewed publications, and is a regular speaker at National and International meetings. Alongside her NHS clinical work, Dr Price has research focus into patients with PH and related lung diseases. She also has a developing interest in breathlessness in patients during and following cancer treatments.

Dr Laura Price is a member of TPC's on-call rota. For weekends and public holidays only, the doctor receives a fee of £416-460 for being on-call from 6am to 10pm.
