Medical Interests: General dermatologist dealing with all skin conditions including skin cancer or precancerous skin lesions, mole checks, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, urticaria and all other inflammatory skin diseases.
Qualifications: BSc(Hons) MBBS(Hons) FRCP(London)
I am a highly experienced general dermatologist with extensive knowledge in my field, dealing with all skin problems and seeing adults and children aged 12–18 years. I have been practising for over 30 years both in the NHS and privately, having qualified from the Royal Free Hospital Medical School, University of London, and dermatology training undertaken at University College Hospital, London.
I believe in providing care to the highest standard treating patients with a compassionate and holistic approach to their problems and concerns. I take a multidisciplinary approach and work closely with colleagues from other medical and surgical specialties when needed.
I see patients with precancerous and cancerous skin lesions and am available to do mole checks with dermoscopy and rapid access to surgical colleagues when removals are necessary. I undertake cryotherapy for benign lesions when appropriate. I also see patients with common general skin conditions and rashes such as acne, rosacea, eczema, skin allergies, psoriasis, urticaria and other inflammatory rashes or skin conditions.
I have been past Honorary Secretary at the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) past Honorary Secretary of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) Dermatology section, as well as past President of the Clinical Immunology and Allergy (CIA) section of the RSM. I have also held positions on a number of collegiate, national and international committees and other elected boards, including Royal College of Physicians (RCP), European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), and European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
I believe in high standards and best practice in clinical care for all and have been involved in national (BAD) and international (EADV/EAACI) skin disease management guidelines. In addition to my clinical/collegiate activities and publication of management guidelines, I have published extensively on a number of skin disease topics and treatments, including chapters in Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology and Treatment of Skin Disease. I have an international reputation and have regularly been an invited speaker at both national and international conferences, including as a Session Director for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
